You will discover Sylvie Landois-Maynard's artworks at Schoen Museum

TO PAINT IS A NECESSITY!

Her artist's name SLM stands for Sylvie Landois-Maynard. She is a multi-talented artist, a painter, a sculptor, a musician, a poet…
Her artworks are exhibited at SchoenMuseum, Laroque-Timbaut, until August 6th, after their way round from Marly-le-Roi to Mantes-la-Jolie, Paris, Bias, Villeneuve-sur-Lot…
For Sylvie Landois-Maynard, to paint is a necessity, an emergency, a true work, not a hobby. Her painting is ardent and it testifies to a tragedy hidden but still present.
Her sorrows burst in bright colours, and she risks violent black, shiny red, violet purple. "Just life" she says!
The exhibition is still on for some days, every day except on Monday, from 3 to 7 p.m.

SLM or the art of being an artist

SLM: Do not search! The three initials stand for an accomplished artist, a painter, a sculptor, a musician, a poet… Sylvie Landois-Maynard is exhibiting at Gertrude-Schoen Museum, "place de la Halle", Laroque-Timbaut, until August 6th. Proud of her Gascon origins, this former Parisian - who has for a long time exhibited in the capital city - has laid her easels and luggage in the region of Villeneuve since 2003. Her expressionistic and figurative artworks, where symbolism and painting with a thesis stand side by side, express an artistic generosity that the artist draws from her life story, her sufferings, and her love for life. An achievement that Sylvie Landois-Maynard offers to her public as a message they will have to define. The red colour with subtle hues explode, colours clash but with no aggressiveness, thus you enter SLM's universe. From the "dream" to Carmen's slender swaying, musicians invite us to dancing, and the allusion to "Andalusia nightingale", the poet Federico Garcia Lorca, awake our wishes for travel and freedom. The invitation is given. Let us thank those artists who have the power to make us dream. Discovering their works is a gift in itself. The exhibition is open every day, except on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
